When we first arrived the weather was calm, sunny, blue skies.  Within a few days we had rain. Since then we’ve experienced all sorts of combinations of sun, cloud, rain, blue sky, , wind, calm, lightening which lights up the entire sky without rain – and sometimes all within a few minutes of each other.  

The view I woke up to a few days ago…

Yesterday we were sitting out in the sun. Behind us a rainbow formed in front of the rain cloud approaching us. The rainbow cloud passed us – sprinkling us with tiny rain drops suspended almost like snowflakes – all while it remained sunny.  Walter commented we were in the rainbow and someone looking at us from afar would be able to see it.  What an interesting thought. 

There does not appear to be any type of definitive “this is how today is going to be” from the weather people here.  Being the daughter of a meteorologist, I was taught to read a weather map and have an understanding of the patterns of wind flow, cold and warm air…etc.   What would my dad have thought of the weather here compared to Canada? How would he have attempted to explain the unpredictability?   

It seems the weather could be considered very similar to the overall perspective of the lifestyle.

I wonder…did the phrase have anything to do with the weather or is the weather just part of the entire country’s thoughts manifesting themselves into a visual representation of it’s pure life?
